STEP 1
IDENTIFY AND ASSESS REAL WORLD PROBLEMS
Young adults today are taking action! At Get Connected that is what we are all about. Our company provides young learners with the opportunity to take action, and make a change right at home in their own community. With the staggering reports on homelessness, teen suicide, school shootings, teen pregnancy, environmental issues, and so much more; Our team has decided, it is time to give learners an opportunity to construct effective change by identifying the problems and seeking evidence-based solutions.
We pride ourselves on assisting students and educators through the process with our resources by introducing students to the reality of the world's real problems. As you know, our problems can't be fixed over night, but our continued fight to educate and sample ideas allow us the opportunity at an attempt to make a lasting change.
Get Connected works directly with K-12 schools, non-profit educational companies, and Private/Charter schools.
STEP 2
INTRODUCE THE TOPIC AND ALLOW STUDENTS TO PERFORM ACTION RESEARCH
Through the introduction phase, a member of the Get Connected team will works directly with the school administration, school police, municipal government, guidance, school coordinators, parent groups, and student government. Although we may only be working with an individual group within your school, we want to be sure we can tie your schools needs with curriculum that allows students to shine and educators to flourish.
At Get Connected, it is important that we have an opportunity to host an assembly/showcase with all participants within your school. In the assembly our team is able to address all participants, teachers, and parents with key information/policies/timelines regarding our competition and student publication entries. This is also a great opportunity for the school to invite the community to see the work the students are doing through project management, action research, and communication skills that could potentially encourage business partnerships and community recognition awards.
STEP 3
PRODUCE CURRICULUM AND EVIDENCE GUIDES FOR STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN COMPETITION. ADDITIONALLY, STUDENTS WILL HAVE PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEIR WORK.
Get Connected is proud to partner with young learners to address real issues within our community! Through our efforts to present key solutions and actionable plans for our community we pledge to assist participants in our program with publication to journal articles, newspapers, and to government agencies.
Our programs will work directly with subject matter experts, community activist, government officials, and educators to produce online and print publication curriculum related to real-world problems our communities face globally, nationally, and locally for a top-tiered level competitive program for young learners.
STEP 4
STOMP OUT REAL WORLD PROBLEMS WITH KEY SOLUTIONS AND ACTIONABLE PLANS
Through the competition phase, a panel of practitioners and subject matter experts will judge the students ideas. The panel will then select one winner per category. The winning project, will be offered the opportunity to work directly with Get Connected and community activist to put their research and plan into action. After the guide is utilized members from the community will evaluate the effectiveness of the plan. Following the evaluation changes will be made. Once a plan reaches 93% effectiveness the report will be published for communities to utilize worldwide.
